+Why I like Apolo

I first discovered Apolo in late January 2002 when NBC was doing their 2002 Winter Olympic showcase. My mom called me over to watch something on TV, because she was like, "Theresa come see this kid with this thing on his chin.". I was like, "What?" My mom was captivated by his story and thought he was

really cute, plus she loved his attitude. So I gave him a shot. I sat down and watched and thought he was cute...but whatever. So I watched his first race, the 1000 m race. I didn't have a clue on what this sport was, but it looked really interesting. So I sat on the couch and watched with my mom. When Apolo was on the last lap and the skaters collided and he went down, me and my mom were screaming and just yelling at the TV, and then Bradbury crossed the finished line. Once I heard how Apolo graciously excepted his Silver Medal and his whole outlook on the race I was just hooked. Then I watched the 1500, and cried and just felt so proud for him when he won his Gold medal. After the Olympics I was a full "Ohno maniac". I have tapes, magazines, and adds...plus over 111,000 pictures on disk and some videos. And to think its been 6 years...I've watched Apolo take Gold and Bronze in the 2006 Torino Olympics. Later enjoyed him in Dancing with the Stars with his partner Julianne Hough, taking the championship! Apolo is an amazing athelete and person!
